Vykintas Baltakas (1972) is a musical Scheherazade. His music keeps pulling you in and referencing itself, sometimes branching off and reinventing itself, and sometimes returning to where it started. He weaves musical stories that are linked with a delicate interconnected web.

Robert HP Platz

Conductor and composer Robert H.P. Platz (born 1951) has taught Composition in the Classical Music department of Conservatorium Maastricht since 1990. He is also in charge of the New Music seminar. In addition, he is a guest teacher all over the world, including in Germany, the USA, France (Paris) and Japan, regions where he has lived and worked for a long time.

The candidate must be able to:

    • submit several compositions or sketches;
    • demonstrate an ability to play an instrument to an appropriate standard;
    • take an aural test (to admission requirement standard) to demonstrate a well-trained or trainable ear.

    The candidate's performance is assessed in a range of areas, including an interview.
    The candidate will be admitted based on the panel's overall impression of the candidate.
