André Seerden (born 1956) started at Conservatorium Maastricht in 1984 as a Methodology teacher. He is now a work placement supervisor for the Percussion and Wind department, and a lecturer in Clarinet Methodology, Methodology for the Wind and Percussion departments, and Conducting and Arranging. He coordinates the work placements and preparatory programmes. He has worked for various music schools and currently holds a senior position at Schunck Muziek & Dans in Heerlen.
Seerden studied Clarinet and Wind & Brass Band Conducting at Conservatorium Maastricht, had private lessons with Piet Honingh and additional training in ensemble performance. As a performing musician, he has been involved in various chamber music projects. He has performed in the Netherlands and abroad with the Helicon chamber orchestra. He is the conductor of wind band Koninklijke Harmonie St. Bavo Nuth and a frequent guest teacher and conductor with wind bands in South Limburg and Germany. He arranges and transcribes classical works for wind bands.
