Ellen Bliek is a Dutch jazz/pop singer and vocal teacher. She studied Jazz Vocals at the conservatory of Maastricht (NL), succesfully earning both a bachelor (2005) and master’s degree (2007).
Ellen is a vocal teacher in the genres jazz/pop/rock, with many years of experience in educating in music schools (such as “SCHUNCK* muziek & dans” in Heerlen (NL)) and her private vocal studio. Her technical and musical know-how, social skills and personal approach create a free and pleasant environment for students to discover, develop and enjoy their musicality and vocal skills. Ellen loves to teach jazz, a rich genre with many beautiful styles within, that allows our personal musical expression and voices to grow. As a singer her main focus is currently mostly on singing jazz, especially swing and big band music.
Ellen is the female leadsinger of ‘The world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Wil Salden’. She’s been performing extensively with this and other professional bands and orchestras for years, touring internationally on a large scale. Through these experiences Ellen gained a very specific insight in performing on stage as well as being “on the road” as a singer.
