Hans Leenders


Hans Leenders is artistic director of the professional chamber choir Studium Chorale, Der Madrigalchor Aachen and vocal ensemble Cantatrix, artistic advisor of the Dutch Gregorian Chant festival, the Chorbiennale Aachen and the festival l’Europe & l’Orgue. He teaches Organ as a main subject and Music History at Conservatorium Maastricht and summer courses in Gregorian chant at the Folkwang-University of Arts in Essen (Germany).

Hans Leenders is the Principal Organist of the Basilica of our Lady in Maastricht (Séverin 1652, Müseler 1765?) and Organist Titulaire at the Kopermolen in Vaals (Hilgers 1765). Guest conductorships include the Slovenian Radio Choir, Groot Omroepkoor, Cappella Amsterdam, Europa Cantat and several conservatoires in Europe.

Orchestral productions with Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Florilegium Musicum and Ensemble ’88 (specialising in contemporary music).

As a composer he is known especially for his vocal music, published by Ascolta, Harmonia and De Haske.
