Roeland Hendrikx (born 1969) has a successful dual career as a soloist and an orchestral musician. As solo clarinet of the Belgian National Orchestra he has earned the reputation of being one of classical music's finest solo, chamber and orchestral musicians. Before joining the National Orchestra of Belgium in 2003, he was solo E-flat clarinet at La Monnaie, the National Opera of Belgium, for 6 years.
As a distinguished chamber musician, Roeland Hendrikx has performed at well-known music festivals in Europe, Japan and the US. He has collaborated with fantastic artists and string quartets. He has also appeared as a soloist with several European and North-American orchestras.
Hendrikx is a lecturer in Clarinet at Conservatorium Maastricht and the Lemmens Institute (Leuven, Belgium). He has given masterclasses in Japan, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Oklahoma and Atlanta. In 2014 he started his own chamber music ensemble: The Roeland Hendrikx Ensemble.
