Arts Educator Campaign - Become a Music Educator

Arts educators are creators and mentors rolled into one. They combine their artistic practice with guiding others, both inside the classroom and beyond.

Many creative young people do not instantly see themselves as teachers. However, if you feel the urge to create alongside a desire to make a difference for others, it might actually be a perfect fit.

Charlotte Suijlen (Music Teacher and Conservatorium Maastricht alumna) used to think she "wasn't really into kids". Now, she works every day with young people who need extra support. "Music isn't an extra; it's essential for mental health and perspective." In her work, she uses music as a means to build confidence and resilience in young people. Pass on your passion as an arts educator. Standing in front of a class means teaching far more than just music, dance, drama, or visual arts. You empower others to express themselves, collaborate, and look critically at the world around them. You demonstrate that arts and cultural education is about more than just fun: it is a vital and stable profession.

Head over to www.kunstvakdocent.nl to discover what the profession involves, where you can study, and how others found their way into teaching the arts.
