Hans Leenders
Classical organ / Choral Conducting
Studying Organ in Maastricht means immersing yourself in a culture of historical instruments and having lessons with two enthusiastic and highly experienced, internationally esteemed teachers. The lessons are taught in the city's two basilicas. Both churches have several monumental instruments. The main teaching organs are the Séverin organ in the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebasiliek (Basilica of Our Lady) and the more Romantic Franssen-Pereboom & Leijser organ in the Sint Servaasbasiliek (Basilica of Saint Servatius).
There is plenty of scope to study the full breadth of the organ repertoire, from the earliest organ music to contemporary music and improvisation. Excursions, projects and concert options form a valuable addition to the regular lessons. There is no lack of organs to practice on, either at the Conservatorium or in the area.
