If you come to live in the Netherlands for your studies before 31 December 2020
If you started living in the Netherlands before or on 31 December 2020 then you are covered by the Withdrawal Agreement. This means that even after the end of the transition period (31 December 2020) nothing will change for you as long as you continue to live in the Netherlands. So you keep the student finance and the statutory tuition fee rate upright. You must therefore continue to meet the other conditions. This also applies if you start a new study after December 31, 2020.
If you come to live in the Netherlands for your studies after 31 December 2020
You are not covered by the Withdrawal Agreement. Your rights are governed by the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, which the EU and UK have concluded. No agreements have been made in this about studying from 1 January 2021. UK citizens are therefore treated the same as non-EU / EEA citizens. Whether you are entitled to student finance and the statutory tuition fees depend on your residence permit. In most cases you are not entitled to the statutory tuition fees and student finance.
