You will have 36 main subject lessons of 60 minutes each year in total with main subject teachers. You can choose to have multiple main subject teachers to have lessons with within the Conservatorium. You may supplement this with external tuition; abroad, for instance.
Learn from the best and be inspired!
The Conservatorium Maastricht hosts inspiring masterclasses for every section every year. You will work with renowned masters in jazz (related) music and play on stage with your musical heroes in our school.
In the past few years we have had the honour to invite Lizz Wright, Chris Potter, Avishai Cohen (tp), Mark Guiliana, Christian Scott, Jazzmeia Horn and others into our school. Our regular guest teachers include Pablo Held, Peter Bernstein, Lage Lund and John Goldsby.
Students graduate by providing a program on a professional stage at an external venue. The final exam expresses the artistic identity of the artist in a total concept of presentation, organization and promotion. It takes into consideration a program of 45-max 60 minutes including presentation, proper structure, fitting venue, good sound, decor & light setup, clothing and personal presentation. The program reflects the artist’s unique identity and is characterized by personal expression, interpretation or arrangements accompanied by a clear groove, sound and approach. The performed pieces can be student’s own compositions.
