Julia Dinerstein was born in Minsk, where she began her music studies. After initially studying Violin at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Elizabetha Gilels and Andrei Korsakov, she proceeded to study Viola with Michael Kugel at Conservatorium Maastricht, where she gained her Soloist Master’s degree with distinction.

She was Principal Violinist in the National Orchestra of Mexico, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (Norway). She has lived in the Netherlands since 2002, and regularly performs as guest principal viola with Holland Sinfonia, philharmonie zuidnederland, Philharmonisch Orkest van Vlaanderen, De Munt Opera Brussels and Het Gelders Orkest. She is an active chamber music player and a member of the The Hague String Trio. Julia has taken part in numerous music festivals in Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Austria, Spain, China, the USA and Italy.

Julia Dinerstein teaches Viola at Conservatorium Maastricht as well as the ARTEZ School of Music (Arnhem/Zwolle) and Hellendaal Muziekinstituut in Rotterdam. Julia won 2nd prize in the Beethoven International Viola Competition in Austria.
