JACK COENEN (1961), trombone

Jack Coenen is the leader of the renowned Jack Million Band which he founded in 1996. The Jack Million Band is specialized in the music of the ‘Swing Era’. For this Jack Coenen received an award from the Big Band Hall of Fame (U.S.A., Florida) and the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society (U.S.A., Iowa)

Jack's experience in transcribing and restoring arrangements from the swing era is renowned. Therefore, because of his knowledge and passion, he is regularly demanded all over the world.

Jack studied classical trombone at the 'Conservatorium van Maastricht' and jazz music at the 'Conservatorium van Hilversum'. He played amongst others with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Timeless Orchestra (NL), Metropole Orchestra (NL), Skymasters (NL), Dutch Jazz Orchestra (NL), Brussels Jazz Orchestra (B) and the BRT Big Band (B). He also played with the 'André Rieu Strauss Orchestra', 'Night Of The Proms', the 'Philharmonie Zuidnederland' and the 'Symfonie Orkest Vlaanderen'.

Jack is a frequently asked as a session musician in all kinds of music.

Jack teaches at the 'Conservatorium te Maastricht', 'de! Kunsthumaniora van Antwerpen' and the 'Muziekacademie van Lanaken'.
