Jeremy Hulin

Jeremy Hulin (born 1956) has been working at Conservatorium Maastricht since 1998. In 2005 he became Musical Director of the Opera department. He is also the opera accompanist.

Hulin studied Clarinet, Musicology and Composition at King’s College in Cambridge, and Clarinet and Conducting at the famous Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. He then continued his studies with a DAAD scholarship at the Berlin University of the Arts, was appointed conductor at the theatres of Ulm, Pforzheim, and Aachen, where he was Principal Conductor (1. Kapellmeister) for 12 years. Here, he also initiated the Jugendsinfonieorchester Aachen. He is a guest teacher at the Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, and collaborates with the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. He conducted the Limburg wind ensemble Helicon and, since 2008, the Sinfonietta Regio. Jeremy Hulin has accompanied countless operas and concerts, often with young performers.
His work in Aachen won him the "Best conductor of the season" award in 1996, and in 1999 he became an honorary conductor of the Städtisches Chor Aachen.
