He has performed as principal double bass with numerous orchestras in Italy, Germany, France and Israel, conducted by Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Harding and Daniele Gatti. He was chosen by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra to play the solo in S. Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé, conducted by Claudio Abbado.
He has participated in numerous concerts for important festivals and institutions, playing in the most prestigious concert halls in the world, as well as recording famous solos for Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Emi, Virgin e Radio Classique. In 2006, Claudio Abbado invited him to join the Lucerne Festival Orchestra with whom he has since performed in Lucerne and around the world during numerous tours (New York, Beijing, London, Paris, Madrid, Vienna, Baden Baden, Moscow, Hamburg, Dortmund, Luxembourg), and recorded numerous DVDs for EuroArts and Deutsche Grammophon.
In addition to his orchestral experience, he is extremely active in chamber music and has played with the soloists of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI di Torino, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Teatro alla Scala di Milano. He has also given concerts with Shmuel Ashkenasi, Bruno Canino, Raphael Wallfish, Enrico Dindo and Ivo Pogorelich.
Since 2004 he has been the solo double bass of the chamber orchestra Archi of Turin (Italy) and he is a tutor in the connected orchestral training academy. He is a lecturer in Double Bass at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Turin and the Classical Music department of Conservatorium Maastricht.
