Esmee Bor (born 1976) teaches Vocals as a main subject in the Jazz department of Conservatorium Maastricht. As a backing vocalist, Bor has worked with artists including Berget Lewis, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Karin Bloemen, Freek de Jonge, Postmen, Rocq-E Harrell, Michelle David and The New London Chorale. She sang in the house band of Wim T. Schippers' TV programme 'Flogiston' for 20 shows.

She has sung with bands such as Jazzed to the Max, Sugar & Spice, Sister Bop, Martinez Move, Food for Funk, and in 2008 she performed at the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam with composer Giel Vleggaar's piece Wanted: Ferne Geliebte. Prior to this, she had already entered the modern cross-over scene in a show with music by Jan Bas Bollen and several concerts with pianist Polo de Haas.

Bor frequently works as a studio singer, and was responsible for the lead vocals on tracks of, among others, trance king Vincent de Moor (‘Eternity Forever’, ‘Fly Away’), Ferry Corsten (‘It’s Time’, ‘Whatever!’) and Tucandeo (‘Northern Lights’).She currently appears in various radio and TV commercials. Every season, she sings the backing vocals for the TV show ‘Het Schaap met de Vijf Poten’. Click here and here for some short movies.

In addition to projects with the Konrad Koselleck Big Band, SoulSurvivors and others, centred around her own work, she frequently performs the classic jazz repertoire with various ensembles. She recently joined the house band of ‘Silvana’s Soul’, a new series of talk shows with performances and interviews in The North Sea Jazz Club in Amsterdam, which harks back to the legendary soul programme presented by Silvana Simons on the Dutch music channel TMF in the 90s.

Esmee Bor studied Jazz Vocals at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Lately, Esmee is working a lot on her own repertoire. She released an EP in 2018, 'Just Sayin', with 6 tracks she wrote and produced. In the same year she also released a video of the single 'Squad groove love', from the same EP.
