The Dutch director Nynke van den Bergh (1979) Studied Theatre Studies at the university of Amsterdam (MA in 2003), and gained further skills in various courses of (physical) acting and directing. After working as a directors assistant for a couple of years, she debuted at Opera Zuid in 2010 with Le Nozze di Figaro (co-director Sybrand van der Werf). At the same company she also directed Le Tableau Parlant (2012), Pagliacci (co-director Miranda van Kralingen, 2013) and Jeugdopera Carmen (2015). For Barok Opera Amsterdam she staged Don Giovanni 1815 (2015), Le Nozze di Figaro (2017) en De Ontmaskering van Peter de Grote (2018/2019). For opera 2.0 she directed El Rey (2015) en De Berg van Tom (2016).
Since 2016 Nynke is the director of Opera Nijetrijne, where she yearly stages an open-air opera. She also recently founded her own company, Muziektheater Boven Water, a company that produces music theatre for children, and teaches “`acting technique at the conservatory of Maastricht.
