Henriette Hustinx Award 2023

Toneelacademie Maastricht - Lenculenstraat 31-33

19:00

- Free admission, reservation not necessary -

The Henriette Hustinx prize is awarded annually to a student of each of the art departments who is full of promise for the future. The amount for each of the three prizes is five thousand euros.

The prize is named after a sister of Edmond Hustinx, Henriette Hustinx, teacher at the Academy of Visual Arts of Maastricht.

For Music, this year's nominees are:

Manuel Requena Suarez

Dimitris Terpizis

Jungmi Yun

These three students have been selected in light of this year's theme: find your own music.

Something that struck us at the Jazz department during last year's graduation festival was the uniqueness of our candidates. From a one-man-band double bass to a saxophonist turned opera composer, our department can be very proud of its output.

Artists with a self-aware product and identity have a great launchpad to start their careers. We at Conservatorium Maastricht have the ambition to stimulate students to take the first steps in forming their own musical identity, and be able to make a living through this.

We therefore want to encourage these students and continue doing so in the future. The Hustinx Award can be a stimulus to continue the path these students choose to take.
