Am I allowed to work while studying in the Netherlands?

  • EU Citizens: Yes, you are allowed to work in the Netherlands. For more information, contact the International Office at: internationaloffice@zuyd.nl
  • Non-European Students: You will need a work permit. Depending on your situation, this can either be a  'aantekening Arbeid is vrij toegestaan' or a 'tewerkstellingsvergunning (TWV)'.
  • All Students: You can also work through the Conservatorium’s booking agency. For details, email: bookingagency.conservatorium@zuyd.nl

Where can I take language lessons?

  • Dutch Lessons: Zuyd offers a free Survival Dutch Kit course for Erasmus students. Invitations are sent via email in October or November.
  • English Lessons: Free English courses are available for Conservatorium Maastricht students.
  • Other Languages: Zuyd also provides courses in German, French, and Dutch as a second language (NT2) for international students.
