Jazz Masterclass - Schönecker-Sasse-Schieferdecker

Schönecker-Sasse-Schieferdecker. Chamber music-swinging-grooving jazz. In the trio formation famous since Nat King Cole: guitar, piano and double bass. Coming to Conservatorium Maastricht for workshops this March the 30th! 



This formation swings, having developed inspiration from Oscar Peterson’s trios to Ron Carter’s “Golden Striker Trio” into an independent sound. The joy from playing, groove, interaction and dynamics are at the centre of this music, played by three musicians who are united by a great love of the jazz tradition and the search for their own voice. The trio's programme consists of newly arranged jazz classics as well as original compositions that translate the inspiration of jazz history into the present. Joachim Schönecker, who as a guitarist has played with many international greats such as Patti Austin, Peter Bernstein or Chris Potter, and Martin Sasse, who has long been one of the outstanding jazz pianists in Europe himself and has worked with almost all the legends in international jazz, are joined by Markus Schieferdecker, one of the most sought-after bassists on the German scene.
