We are excited to welcome Eran Har Even back to Conservatorium Maastricht for an inspiring guitar masterclass! Known for his unique approach to guitar performance, Eran will lead two workshops designed to explore the guitar as a solo instrument and in small ensemble settings.

Solo Guitar Toolkit

Develop the ability to perform independently and create a full sound as a solo guitarist. Topics include among others:

  • Bass & melody – Building a strong harmonic foundation
  • Self-accompaniment – Integrating rhythm and harmony into melodies
  • Crafting form & mood – Developing intros, outros, tempo, and style
  • Guitar polyphony – Playing multiple voices
  • Contemporary techniques – Hybrid picking, textural tools, open strings, and more

Playing in Small Settings (Duo & Trio)

Explore the dynamics of small ensemble playing, with a focus on interaction and creativity. Topics include among others:

  • Ensemble trust – Creating a strong musical connection

  • Live performance & feedback – Forming student duos and trios

About Eran Har Even

Born in 1983, Eran Har Even is an Edison-nominated Israeli guitarist, composer, and educator based in Amsterdam. A leading figure in the Dutch jazz scene, he has recorded and performed with Benny Golson, Terell Stafford, David Friedman, Harmen Fraanje, Joris Roelofs, and Gilad Hekselman, among others.

For over a decade, Eran has been a faculty member at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, teaching ear training, theory, guitar, and ensemble coaching. He is also an in-demand guest lecturer at music schools and jazz seminars worldwide, while actively performing at major venues and festivals.
