Masterclass Harp - Sophie Hallynck

Sophie Hallynck teaches harp and chamber music at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp (until 2017) and at the Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie (IMEP) in Namur.

In demand as a musician, Sophie performs as a soloist with various orchestras : Collegium Brugense, Prima la Musica, Orchester de Chambre de Wallonie, Orchester de chambre de St. Petersbourg, the Flemish Symphonic Orchestra, Jeune Philharmonie, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, I Fiamminghi, De Philharmonie, Orchester philharmonique de Liège, La Petite Bande, l'orchester de la chapelle musicale de Tournai, le Kiev Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in concertos by Mozart, Haëndel, Rota, Rodrigo, Debussy, Boy, Gossec, Craens (creation), Janssen (creation), Constant (creation), Lutoslawski (oboe and harp).

Sophie Hallynck has contributed to recordings of various CDs in Belgium and abroad. The most important below: the recordings with the ensemble ARPAE (Fuga libera and Cyprès), especially the trio Phalaena (Antartica records), the collaboration on a CD dedicated to the sonatas of Claude Debussy with Sigiswald and Barthold Kuyken for Arcana (Choc de la Musique and Diapason d'or), a monographic recital based on the works of Namur's composer Félix Godefroid, recorded for “Musique en Wallonie”, a cello and harp recital with her sister Marie Hallynck “Esprit de suite” (Fuga libera) and others with her ensemble Kheops (Cyprès).

Because of her fame, she was appointed president of the association 'la harpe mosane' and she presides over the international harp competition 'Felix Godefroid'.
