Student Ilgın Top won the 1st prize at the Suna Kan International Violin Competition in Turkey

Ilgın Top (4th year Bachelor Classical violin student) won the 1st prize at the Suna Kan International Violin Competition in Turkey last week. After the preliminary (video) round, they selected 15 people to participate in the competition. The competition had 3 rounds. Ilgin played the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with an orchestra in the finals, as well as a new, for the competition composed, piece which was sent to the participants only one month before. The juries consisted of members from Turkey, England, Germany, Bulgaria and Italy, including conductors and members of Berlin Philarmonie.
Ilgın Top is currently studying with Boris Belkin.
