Advent Concert Chamber Choir - conducted by Hans Leenders

Classical

Basiliek van Onze Lieve Vrouwe - Onze Lieve Vrouweplein 7 Maastricht

14.00

The wonderful choral tradition of the English cathedrals has resulted in the most beautiful works for Advent and Christmas. You will hear some of these beautiful carols in romantic but also more contemporary tones. Also contemporary is the Psaume 97 by Hans Leenders, who has newly arranged an existing choral work of his hand for voice and organ especially for this concert: In principio. The German music is filled with two great masters from the 18th and 19th centuries: Bach (organ) and Brahms. Finally: an Ave Maria should not be missing in this church, especially in Advent. You will hear one of the most beautiful Ave Marias ever written for choir in this concert.

Students from the organ class of Marcel Verheggen and Hans Leenders.

Please keep in mind: limited seating available, seating capacity 100 people.
