Critics have celebrated his artistry:

- The Irish Times: “The gifted and highly respected German pianist Hubert Nuss pays tribute to the late Olivier Messiaen, creating an album imbued with the modal and harmonic sensibilities of the great French composer.”
- Jazz Inside New York: “Drawing from a rich classical tradition and a deep understanding of post-bop masters, Nuss demonstrates a remarkable individuality. This inventive and sensitive keyboardist shows an artistry that is uniquely his own.”
