Sven Heinze (*1983) studied Composing/Arranging Jazz with Wolfgang Braun, Michael Abene and Marko Lackner and Classical Orchestral Conducting with Jan Stulen and Enrico Delamboye at Maastricht University of Music.

During the past years he has been conducting several ensembles in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany such as symphony orchestras, salon, chamber and mandolin orchestras, choirs and big bands.

Sven writes arrangements, orchestrations and compositions for ensembles like Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Sinfonieorchester Aachen and Wiener Kammersymphonie. Stylistically, these commissions range from classical operas and ballets through symphonic adaptations of pop songs and jazz standards to original compositions that are influenced by jazz and other styles.

He plays piano, cello and cajon in jazz and pop bands and has been teaching piano, theory and arranging since 2003.

Since summer 2015, Sven has been docent for music theory and ear training at classical and jazz departments of Maastricht University of Music.

Apart from that, he researches in the fields of harmony and rhythm/meter.
